This was my ninth consecutive season of mountain bike racing, and fifth with coach Heather K. I joined Hardcore Cycling Club this season. I did not do as many races this season because I was sick at the beginning of the season. I went a total of 1,935 km's training and racing on the road and trails along with indoor spinning and cross country skiing.

Fluffy Bunny Marathon Provincial Championships MTB Race 2018 @ Bragg Creek (Alberta Cup XCM) #2


Sunday Sept 2nd, I finished 6th place out of 6 in the Masters Men 30-39 category Results, It took me 3 hours & 6 minutes to complete 1 lap and I went a total of 21 Kms. Total elevation gain was 2,575 Feet. My average heart rate was 162 bpm and max was 195 bpm. Check out my garmin data Here.

The format was 4.5 hours to finish as many laps as you can. My legs were pretty sore from yesterdays XCO race. I grinded out one lap and very pleased to get that done. I had to walk up parts of the climbs, very rare for me. I really enjoyed the long 4+km climbs. The down hill sections were a blast. On the first climb myself and Nadine H spent 20 minutes helping a young junior racer change his flat tire, It felt nice to help out. The temperature was 16 deg C.

Fluffy Bunny Provincial Championships MTB XC Race 2018 @ Bragg Creek (Alberta Cup XC) #1


Saturday Sept 1st, I finished 9th place out of 9 in the Masters Men 30-39 category Results, It took me 1 hour & 36 minutes to complete 3 laps and I went a total of 17 Kms. Total elevation gain was 1,470 Feet. My average heart rate was 173 bpm and max was 191 bpm. Check out my garmin data Here.

I finished 2 laps behind. There was really good racers in my category. I went out there and gave it my best today and was very happy with getting three laps done. I really loved the long 2 km climb every lap. The decent was really fast and flowy. It was a blast racing today especially before and after speaking with fellow racers. The temperature was 15 deg C.

Royal River Valley Rumble MTB XC Marathon Race 2018 @ Sunridge Ski Hill (Alberta Cup XCM) #1


Sunday May 27th, I finished 35 place out of 35 in the Solo Men category Results, It took me 2 hours & 45 minutes to complete 3 laps and I went a total of 32 Kms. Lap 1= 50 mins, Lap 2= 54 mins, Lap 3= 1hr. Total elevation gain was 2,300 Feet. My average heart rate was 169 bpm and max was 195 bpm. Check out my garmin data Here.

The format of this race is easy complete as many laps as you can in five hours. I was not able to ride my bike from September to mid February due to an illness. I did not have as much training over the winter. Today I did not have my legs under me as I had to walk up some climbs on the last lap. The course was built good and fun to ride. I was happy to be out today trying my best and having fun racing. Today was my first race with my new cycling club Hardcore Bikes and there was over twenty of us racing. The temperature was 26 deg C.

2017/2018 Capital City Rec Hockey League Season Recap


This was my tenth consecutive season of organized hockey, fifth with the Rangers. We finished first place in division 15/16. I played in 21/28 Games and had 12 Goals & 12 Assists for 24 points and that was tied with Greg P and Rob H for the team lead. I played in 9/10 play off games and had 4 Goals & 2 Assists for 6 points. We won the first two rounds on the best of three series and in the finals we got to game five and lost by one goal. It was a really amazing season for us.
