Iron Lung Grand Nationals MTB XC Race 2011 @ Canmore (Alberta Cup) # 2

On Sunday July 17th, was my second race on the Alberta Cup series. I finished 12th place out of 18 in Novice Men,  http://www.albertabicycle.ab.ca/results  It was three laps for a total of 22 km's and it took me 1hr 48mins. My average heart rate was 190 and my max was 203. I found my legs on lap two and even got faster on the last lap. I road the laundry chutes and devonian drop for the first time. I did not do the eye dropper this year. I was thirteen minutes faster than I was in June's Iron Maiden race. I raced with better technical skills and decents than ever before and this is my best result to date and I peaked for this race. I had a great time and was enjoying the race, and it was 25 deg c. A big thanks to Martin P for taking pictures and help in the feed zone.

The race was held @ the Canmore Nordic Center put on by http://www.teambowcycle.com/  and I thought they were first class putting together a very tough but fun course. This years Nationals was tougher than last years.

I was camping at http://www.sundancelodges.com/loc.html  I was there from Wednesday July 13th to Monday July 18th.
