Blackstrap Biter MTB XC Race 2012 @ Blackstrap (Saskatchewan Cup) #1

Sunday June 24th, I finished 9th place out of 21 in Sport Men Results It took me 1hr 35mins and was 3 laps for a total of 18 Kms. Lap #1=34mins, Lap #2=32mins Lap #3=29mins. My average heart rate was 184 and max was 201. I earned 105 Saskatchewan cup points but dont get awarded them in the series standings because I am out of province. There was an up hill finish and I was in a sprint and I got in three seconds ahead of 10th place. This race was located @ Blackstrap provincial park, it has Blackstrap lake, a ski hill for down hill and lots of X-Country skiing trails. It is 30mins from my hometown Saskatoon. If you think it is all flat here then you are wrong because this course had lots of longer climbs mixed with tight single track trails and a few wide open double track trails. It was 26 deg c. This was my first race in Sport. A huge thanks to Northern Bush Rastas & Bruce's Cycle Works for putting on a fun bike race, and the BBQ was so good. A big thanks for my uncle and family friend for comming to cheer me on and take some pics.
